In May 1:st of 2003 the first issue of Pirates Unite was released. The fanzine was released to make swedish anarchists and punks aware of the heritage they have gotten from the pirates of the golden age. The heritage to live under the black flag free from the ruling class' opression.

We choose to release it on May 1:st to remember the eight murdered anarchists that were the reason for the first Mayday. The proud tradition of the nationalstate goes on today. Anarchists are still being convicted in mock trials in "the civilized world". Gothenburg, Genua and the six counties are just a few of those places were the powerful does their best to ignoe their own laws so that they can punish the disobidient.

Pirates were also disobidient, but in a much more openly violent society. The similarities are many and to educate us all we decided to start this zine, and of course cause it's great fun to write a zine.

Still the zine is only in swedish, but we will maby start to write it in english if there are anyones interessted out there. Drop us a line and let us know.
